When a client does not trust their attorney, the outcome is never good. And while this aspect may appear similar to the requirement that you “feel comfortable” with your attorney, it’s really not.
Feeling comfortable with your attorney has everything to do with the level of comfort you have in sharing information about yourself. On the other hand, trusting your attorney has everything to do with how you well you accept and respond to the information your attorney shares with you.
Think about it this way; after discussing the pro’s and con’s of a particular strategy with your lawyer, he offers his advice as to what you should do . . . do you trust him? Do you believe that his advice will put you in the best position possible? When you meet with your attorney, does he instill confidence in you that he knows what he is doing and that his advice is sound? If the answer to those question is no, then you need to keep looking.
